Topic: The story behind your username

I felt like making an original name and the 1st things that came to mind were PartyBoy and Teabagging, so I just mixed those two things together and there you have it, my name :P

my original name was Ryuji Slayer, but I was a lot younger and well... I just don't know about it, then I wanted to create a better persona character, something that was more like the me now, and Ryu Yami was created, unlike Ryuji Slayer who would just kill any human that crosses him Ryu Yami is much more calm and collective, it also happens to be my writers name

Updated by anonymous

I was just going to go with "Kenji" cuz I really like that name but it was taken so I thought about adding "Omega" on there cuz my fursona is a wolf. But then I realized Omega was the lowest rank in a wolf pack so I threw in Alpha to assert my dominance over a wolf pack that doesn't exist.

I needed an alt account with which I could upload disgusting and questionable things and wouldn't be suspected of being my other, main, account. Chose to follow the animal/object format (think: WolfPaw, ShadowFox, NightRaven, FoxTail etc. etc.) and used the first two random things I could come up with.

Updated by anonymous

I like wolves. Couldn't get my usual handle, Werewolf. Went for Vargr (Norwegian for wolf), figuring it's obscure enough that it might be free . . . no. Thought "Ah! Dire wolves!" and got Dire Vargr.

So, given your name is donkey tissue, does that mean you're an asswipe? trollface.jpg

I always use quasi-random exclamations for screennames, usually a different one every time I register somewhere. I mostly just go with the first thing that comes to mind.

"Wahai!" is a fun thing to yell and doesn't mean anything as far as I'm aware, so it's perfect.

I wanted something relevant to myself, that I could be identified by and with, while staying separate from my "normal" alias. (I am a huge Magic dork) I like teh pr0nz and all, but there's no reason to shout it from the rooftops. :B

Plus this is my first real experience with being "anonymous". It's a bit liberating.

No real anonymity here. Users here have profiles and records, and everything they do is documented. You want anonymity, fchan's probably your best bet.

I believe he means anonymity from his IRL/known life. It's a username he doesn't use elsewhere, and as such, is technically anonymous for purposes of personal identification. Same sorta reason I picked my name (Though I don't know why... Everyone I know knows me as a lazy furry pervert >_>)

It's just my name. Plus my fursona is a skunk. So, yeah. Pretty simple.

Tanuki: The mythological deity not the real dog. Known for shape-shifting, being mischievous, being over sexed and generous. Tanuki also has huge balls.
Chan: suffix for babies, young women and cute things.

Tanuki-Chan: In real life, I'm a rather generous, mischievous person who has the reputation of having serious balls for a chick and for being a perv. That and it's a variation of my summoner name for LoL which I picked for similar reasons.

Edit: Or an Asian law enforcement officer in Asia, who just happens to like Texas a lot. Which I can totally understand, as Texas has the best steaks I've ever tasted.

I had such a crush on you when I was in 7th grade.

also, regarding chan.. it's more of a statement of intimacy... as adults, you might all your childhood best friend chan... your long time boyfriend, etc. calling a 'young woman' 'chan' might be insulting to her, unless your relationship is very friendly. The weeaboo "anime lines" of "chan is for girls, kun is for boys" isn't as rigid as most would have you believe (or tha'ts my impression of it at least)

that said, chan is used for cute little things and small children XD

My explanation of -chan was meant to be hyper simple and in relation to why I picked it for my username.
But more importantly, why do people always mention anime? And I'm gonna seem dumb but what exactly is a weeaboo? Is it the same thing as an Otaku?

People mention anime because, for many people on the internet, their exposure to Japanese culture comes primarily through anime shows and movies.

Weeaboo is a semi-insulting term for someone interested in/obsessed with Japanese culture and/or anime. So, sort of like otaku, only snottier.

http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/subcultures/weeaboo#.Tl2W6V1v_eI

Updated by anonymous

Not quite, Dire. Weeaboo is for those elitist otaku who are so into Japan and Japanese culture/items/tech/cars/everything that they will demean their own culture to prove japanese superiority. Can only be applied to non-Japanese. Think of it as as far removed from otaku as otaku is from a "normal" person, in normal japanese connotations.

Note however it often is devalued and used to mean simply a derogatory slur to those who wear the badge of "otaku" with pride.

'tis my username on most email services and other sites...

"hg3" is a reference to my nickname in high school, as my first & middle initial and suffix (i was the 3rd in my family with the same name).

The other "300" is a funny story. I had this silly idea to number the rooms in my father's house...and I happened to be in the front room on the top floor...

So in 2007 I created a yahoo mail address "hg3#300" but the "#" was removed, I guess it was an invalid character XD Looking back I'm glad it got rid of that character. I have since deleted the address but I still have many other email accounts with the same nickname...and a similar one "hg3990" for times when I can't get my username as it's already taken. (the 990 is referencing my birth year)

I guess I should update.

Mechanic - a person who repairs and maintains machinery, motors, etc.: an automobile mechanic or a worker who is skilled in the use of tools, machines, equipment, etc. as well as, somewhat more fittingly, a person skilled in the dishonest handling of cards, dice, or other objects used in games of chance.

-trix suffix - a suffix occurring in loanwords from Latin, where it formed feminine nouns or adjectives corresponding to agent nouns ending in -tor ( Bellatrix ). On this model, -trix is used in English to form feminine nouns ( aviatrix; executrix ) and geometrical terms denoting straight lines ( directrix ).

I'm a bit of a nightowl person, and around my area, winters are dark. I found this site during the winter, so I felt it appropriate to use Darkened, as for the Shadow, I'm not very noticeable. I am a dark shadow in the light. (Yes, I know that doesn' t make sense. Deal with it.)

This is the username I use almost everywhere (main variation being ShrodingersKit, or the root name of LionSilverWolf).
LionSilverWolf came from my very first email, yahoo asked me for three things I liked so I threw 'lion' 'silver' and 'wolf' at it and it spat them right back at me like 'Hurr durr here's your handle dummie'. I used it everywhere for a while and then one of my friends decided I was too young to be a lionwolf and that I must be a kitten puppy instead. My friends are lazy bastards so they started calling me KitPup.

Raiden from Mortal Kombat was cool, lightning is my favorite elemental, and I think the American pronunciation sounds cool. Gekkou also sounds cool, I like how it's spelled. So, yeah.

I rediscovered that word at the time I signed up, I like that whole 'walking the earth' romantic Ideal, 'Traveller' was also in consideration.

I also wanted a 'real name', not something where I forcedly have to add digits because it already exists or something.

And other than that: I simply think it sounds damn cool! B)
