Topic: vaporeon_copypasta tag getting taken off of posts?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I noticed that every post with the vaporeon_copypasta tag has had that tag removed recently, and without an edit reason listed. Is there any particular reason why that is? I searched the forums to see if there was some sort of decision made to stop using the tag, but I haven’t found anything.

Please, give us examples of posts where it was removed, so we can attest if it's a valid removal or not.

Edit: Wait... now that I checked it seems every post with that tag had it removed by some users. There's some posts that I agree it should be removed, but most seemed okay to have it, I think it was tagging vandalism.

So this guy just evades bans to repeatedly nuke the vaporeon_copypasta tag? Can't the tags just be.. locked onto the post or something so they have no reason to keep coming back?

Ok. Done.

Less controversial stuff: I removed the tag for images where the text is only in the description or the reference is only clear with the description text. I added it for images with phrases similar to "hey x, did you know that in terms of...", or images with "hey guys" or "in terms of" and a vaporeon visible. I added it for images in pool #22579, which explicitly references it and includes a version of the text modified for umbreon.

Sketchy stuff: Added it for post #2545594, post #2550360, and post #2857347, which reference the style of the copypasta but don't have any specifically matching phrases. Removed it for post #3109995, which has the phrase 100% compatible, but nothing else.

Please advise (or don't, if you agree with my choices):
post #2798289 and post #2886089 have vaporeons comprised entirely of cum. This is probably a reference to one of the last lines of the copypasta, "Also, fun fact, if you pull out enough, you can make your Vaporeon turn white.". However, it's also just canonical that Vaporeons absorb liquid from their environment. Since the images can make sense without the copypasta, I am inclined to leave the tag off.
post #2847215 has an indirect reference to the copypasta: the reason why the eevee is scared is because it knows the water stone will make it a vaporeon, which will then be used for sex. Since the image does not make sense without that implication, I am inclined to leave the tag on.
post #2955961 and post #2820392 clearly reference the existence of the copypasta, but do not have it or any text with "copypasta style" in frame. I am inclined to restore the tag.

post #2392372 didn't have the copypasta tag arbitrarily, it's in the description at the source.

user #1048353's vandalism stretches beyond just one tag - they appear to have had it out for vaporeon in general. The species tag was removed from posts like post #10225 and post #89698, despite Vaporeon objectively being present in both. In some (but not all) cases, they replaced it with glaceon. Also vandalised the source of post #3046641 for some reason? Oh, and in post #2969203, they removed all three of the artist's name, vaporeon_copypasta and vaporeon.

While I was at it, I added the copypasta tag back to post #3109995, as the phrase and image can only be understood in the context of the copypasta and I don't think anything that user did should be treated in good faith.

The "other" (if indeed that is the case) user involved in the most recent bout of vandalism, user #1024158, generally stayed more restricted in scope but did remove the umbreon_copypasta tag from all the pages of pool #22579. As this does appear to be an actual thing, I added them back.

Fun fact: Not a single male Vaporeon was targeted in this incident.

Source descriptions don't count for TWYS, and memes are tagged when you see them. An artist mentioning the meme in the source description or tags does not mean the meme should be tagged here if you can't see it in the image.
