    I'm glad this is only a sketch. I don't think the world would be ready to see this thing cleaned up and colored.

    The whole skaven female/brood mother thing has been sorta inconsistent, and iirc was introduced in a Gotek and Felix story. Like a lot of the fluff it's been used and disused variously by the black library authors, and is sorta officially both is and isn't canon (well not anymore with age of sigmas but I don't wanna talk about that). I think later on (post 5th edition?), I read they introduced the idea that the normal rank and file skaven could be either dude or dudette but how could you tell man-thing, they are all chattering neurotic rats, and sex drive was a much much lower priority than "not get fucking stabbed" and "food" and "im gonna stab my way up the ladder" and general paranoia, narcissism and fucking hungry dirty backstabbing rat things. The broodmamas may or may not have still been around as the prime "production industry", frankly I feel that it was something GW kinda didn't want or care to really explore much.

    Since I've already wrote a goddamn wall I'm gonna complain about how the latter editions of WHF, clan Moulder in particular, tended to drift aesthetically away in a fashion I wasn't a fan of: stuff like the hellpit abomination. They went from a Dr Frankenstein but evil Rats of NIMH thing (which they did still retain to a fair degree) that worked well conceptually with clan skyre's war machines, to esssentially "Fleshcrafters: monsters, in about an hour".

    Don't worry dude, we know how it is, opinions are like Skaven, often misshapen, packed with a substantial quantity of bullshit and crack, yet surprisingly effective with enough individual dedication or sheer weight of stupidity behind them.
