April 10th: The bill has been vetoed!
April 2nd: The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.

MemberRidley will murder anyone he feels like, it's not exclusive to Samus. Samus is just the only one who has been able to stand up to him and actually beat him in any capacity. Gray Voice did a good job but then his age caught up to him and Ridley doesn't give his opponents any chances to get a second wind.

MemberGray Voice is the Chozo who gave his genetic coding to re-write Samus at age 4 at the suggestion of Mother Brain (before it was revealed she had gone rogue.) He also was in possession of a power suit, which is encoded to the genetic level and thus how Samus got hers, although it was altered to ensure Mother Brain had no data on the original (Gray Voice was highly suspicious and through the rest of the story, seems to come off as something of an asshole.)
Mother Brain eventually went rogue, determined the best way to keep order in the galaxy was by getting the largest, most single minded army who'd listen without question (the Pirates) and would use several key generals to spearhead this operation. Ridley was high ranking, but he was still "natural". Mother Brain advised to take in Samus, enhance her abilities, give her a power suit, and ensure she was the most highly powerful warrior they could have on hand with the end goal of Samus being the brutal spearpoint of the Pirate forces leading a new galactic order. Gray Voice seemed to go along with this and turned traitor to the rest of the Chozo.
What Mother Brain didn't count on was that Samus had traumatic backlash in seeing Ridley for the first time in 15-16 years, nor did Mother anticipate that Gray Voice planned for this.
He'd have potentially destroyed Mother Brain, but he was suffering fake heart attacks due to a barrier placed in the Chozo by the Chozo that would force them to suffer intense pain should they act out in violence (the Chozo were NOT nice people until they found out they sterilized their entire species).
Yet despite all this, he did important damage to Mother Brain's chamber in Tourian,
was impaled by Ridley
yet continued to fight
and even shot down an assault craft that was going to attack Samus' rescue party.
Truly, he was the one who most closely earned the title of Father to Samus.
Oh yes, and the Varia suit was a gift explicitly from him and can give Samus glimpses of his knowledge due to the Chozo uploading their minds to their magitech. This is why Samus always downgrades to it in her down time since it's the only family ties she has left.
