Can I get some context from anyone who watches this show?

Why does the black unicorn hate the white pegasus?

The black one (Queen Chrysalis) is leader of an insect-like army of shapeshifters (changelings). In one episode (A Canterlot Wedding), she tried to take over kingdom (Equestria) run by the white one (Princess Celestia). The white one tried to fight, but lost (like is apparently happening in this comic, too). The black one was later defeated by magic of love between another two royal characters.

    Thanks

Also that sounds a lot like the plot of a Disney movie from the 1950s.

  • The design of Spike there reminds me of Saurian. I'm wondering if he'd like to participate in this "game" too.

  • I thought Spike was being squished between them until I read the 1st panel and spotted him in the second.

    Yeah... I just woke up.

And like the actual episode, it will be up to the mane six to "save the day".so that should make an interesting continuation, should the artist choose to do so.

Well, it IS a show with children as part of their targeted audience.. but what made that look like that is more the fact, that the plot of two episodes where condensed into 3 lines, including base information.

It left out the infiltration, kidnapping, deceit, betrayal, emotional manipulation, near murder, rather violent if cartoony combat and, arguable, racial/biological based discrimination.

"by magic of love between another two royal characters" sounds super cheesy.
Infusing an expanding shield with emotionally charged magic to specifically target a race that feasts on said emotion for sustenance, flinging them out of the city and down the cliff on the other hand...
