  • Hopefully Keidran have separate laws regarding alcohol. Imagine being middle-aged and not being allowed to drink...

It’s unfortunate that she never got to live that long

I'm hoping Tom will bring her back one day. The way she was killed off was so stupid. She and Trace were literally in the same blast. Yet, he lives, and she dies? It's ridiculous and makes no sense.

So she had a nudist phase when she was 8

Keidran society as a whole is very relaxed about clothing, or at least the lack of wearing any. It has been pointed out in other images and even in the more recent comics themselves (with the tigers in the human town) that wearing clothing can be seen as insulting in some cases (such as meeting the queen) and it is customary to go without for the majority of the time.

These sorts of things tend to be based on the max age of a species and when your society considers you an "adult" so she could probably drink around age ten or so. Lots of places in the world have lower ages of being able to order a alcoholic drink than the U.S.A. does so that is another factor. Also it's a fictional universe so of course the laws are going to be different.

Non-Cannon image, but I'm sure 8 is the legal age for Keidran to drink alcohol.

Nah, she just had to wear clothes when she was living in East Basidia due to very prudent Eastern Basitin decency laws, so by the time she would have reached the “elder” point in her life, she would have been used to wearing clothes

I don't think it happened like this, but it's all I have so far.

Casual Nudity from Keidran does happen before becoming an adult... But due to the taboo subject matter, it's rarely shown.

  • I still feel that Keidran live faaaar too short to develop a proper state of mind, and consciousness.
They appear to have a human level of speed of thought and awareness, yet I should accept that they somehow develop almost 3 times faster than a human? Nah mang.
"Elder" at 40+ would be somewhat more acceptable, but not at 20+.

It seems about 3/7 ratio, with keidran learning faster than humans or basitins. But faster doesn't mean equal to the rate they age. Infact, a few keidran in the setting have mentioned envying the other 2 races for their longer lives and more through experiences. Even if they learn twice as fast (it's probably a bit less than this) they still can't keep up comparatively.

Still, they feel too smart or not smart enough for their lifespan. If they developed at a human level, they wouldn't even reach the level of intelligence we see, before neural degradation sets in and pushes them back down. Or if they had faster mental capability than humans to outweigh their life span, they would be on average much smarter than an average human. He should either double their lifespan to make them an equivalent to iron age humans or make them so hyper, that Salarians seem to be in need of a coffee.
I just feel Tom wanted to have a species that lives so short it's sad for us, readers, and feel about them like we feel about our pets dying too (for us) early, no matter the logic behind their biological state of existence, and that bugs me.

I don't get the jump in the second part of the logic. If they're faster learners, there's still a large gap of years to make up for before they're usually smarter than humans.

Ah but you see, the joke would have been funny if only you didn't do the basic response. Seriously, just think up something creative.

The thing is, if they learn and develop around 3x faster than humans to offset 3-4 times shorter lifespan, Flora, at this point in time since Trace first met her, should surpass him in mental development.
Also, something I just noticed. for whatever reason, their aging accelerates. "Child" stage is around 2 times younger than human would be, but "Elder" is 3-4 times younger.

There is a whole range between "slightly faster" and "three times faster" like the less than twice as fast given in the original post. Also, lots of animals age at different rates than humans, such as cat being sexually mature at less than 2 years of age but living over 25 years in some cases with less medical technology to support them than we have for ourselves, or parrots which can outlive their owners, or large dogs that take 3 years to mature but rarely live longer than 12.

There really isn't an inherently obvious, creative response one can give to that meme though. Though! To be fair, the voting done on this site never made sense, there can be one comment on one post that gets over ten upvotes, and the same exact comment on a different yet similar post that gets over five downvotes, iunno if it's like, sheep mentality or some weird force that drives people- yo yo, what if there's some sort of superstitious reason behind it :o- But no no, seriously, I didn't see much of a creative response for that specific meme, sorry

Trace was under some sort of trance and likely used magic to protect himself

Well you could have gone with a more ironic approach and said the normal response to a different similar bait joke and then gone and backtracked cuz you did the wrong one and made a joke of that. Then again honestly just puns or wordplay works, especially if it's "original."

I guess what I'm getting at is, not everything has to be original, especially on the internet, in order to be funny, I ain't no famed comedian after all, just someone

That's where the main problem with the internet lies. Say you post a meme that's currently popular, and personally have only seen it say, 5 times. Well people looking at it may have already seen it 50 times.

Anyways it's more s phenomenon of repetition on this interweb of ours.

Let's hope it's not for good. He really enjoys making sketches of a character that deserves more than being just a plot convenience.

As i said he was in some sort of trance, at this moment the only thing that mattered to him was to keep himself and Flora safe, he didn't care about anyone else
