actually, silk comes from the cocoons of silk worms, sadly, while they are still inside, so it stays a single thread, they boil it or something to kill the worm inside and clean the silk and afterwards unwrap the silk and use it, i heard some would let it dry and eat them. you can learn a lot by going to museums.

Well...that's true for the standard silk we use in most textiles, but the substance spiders use to make their webs is known as silk. And you can make a fabric with it, though it's much more labor intensive (but they're working on it :) ).

This should be in a game.

    Okay, here we go:

A gigantic spider saleswoman who specializes in selling restoratives and buffs just before dungeons and boss fights. She also has a husband, who is a much smaller spider and can be found sometimes collecting the ingredients for the restoratives in the overworld. When you find him, he'll usually be facing some kind of difficulty, and if you help him, it unlocks a new restorative or buff for his wife to sell.

the husband's adventurous, but knowing that he's very small, he knows better than to do anything that's truly dangerous, so he limits his adventuring to ingredient hunting and potion mixing. He deeply admires the player character, lauding him/her as a "true adventurer." One of your side-quests involves taking him on a "real adventure," after which you'll unlock an exceptionally powerful buff potion (or even some kind of special item). He also has a short temper, and if anyone bad-talks the player character while he's nearby, he will become quite irate.

The wife is very doting and loving to her husband, and often fears for his safety. She is initially somewhat dismissive of the player character, but becomes much more kind and motherly after the husband is helped out of a dangerous situation. She also has an irrational fear of mice and other small rodents, usually climbing up the wall to avoid them. Her introduction could involve the player character killing a bunch of rat enemies in a room, only for her to crawl down from the ceiling mini-boss style... And offer to sell her wares to the player in return for killing them (if questioned about it after she's grown to like you, she'll claim that she doesn't like them because they're "icky," not because she actually fears them, and her husband is usually the one who gets rid of them).

So, how's that? Also, I'm not very good with names; does anyone else have an idea on what they should be called?

You'd think spiders would consider silk lewd because of how it's made.

I must disagree. Spiders use their silk as a method of catching and holding food, so if anything, it would be more like someone offering you a cornucopia for a hat.

This is genius. Oh, my idea for names for the large female spider and her small husband are Charlie and Peter, respectively.

    Charlie.

I see what you did there. Fortunately, I left my feels in my sock drawer today.

Although if Peter is also a reference, I'm afraid I don't get it.

    Peter Parker, the Spider-Man.

I did not even know that a pic having both spider and cute tag would exist.
But this.. this is just cute.

A year later, and you probably know Muffet's existence by now.

  • Funny thing is, a few weeks ago, I had a dream that was very similar to this picture. I was exploring a cave of some sorts and behind me was a terrifying creature. But then the creature offered utensils, like forks, knifes and spoons. It was very weird.

  • I am utterly blown away at how many comments this has, really. Lol. The male character here is my own, and the spider is from Diablo III.

My ex and I were in a skype call while I was doing some solo dungeon runs, and I started getting swarmed by ... oh ... a metric f-ton of spiders. I was a ranger class or something of that sort. And I just randomly bellowed out that phrase.

Thus, art was born. The male character is an 'old' version of my fursona. She drew this all up and showed me, and I actually felt guilty for having to kill all of the spiders because she made this look so cute.
