Description

First finished animation in TvPaint. Still doing a lot of exploration. If you're reading this, i have a question for you;

is sketch animation with airbrushed coloring fine with you? I ask because its significantly faster for me to sketch and fill an animation roughly than to make inked solid lines, and flat solid colors underneath, so if people like how this looks I'll be doing more this way to up my production speed (and keeping my commission prices to a reasonable level.)

  • And to answer the question, I'm personal like this style of animation. The movement is smooth which is already a good thing, but the sketchy look of it also gives it some unique personality as well.

This is fucking amazing for being done from scratch.

thank youu so much! I still have a lot to learn in how to move hair around (I played it a little safe on this one) but jiggle physics n squishies are funn.

Very impressive. I hope you continue to improve.

If I keep a constant flow of commissions coming in, I'll be animating stuff like this every day.

Please, whatever you do, let it involve this, and continuing to do this.

I love how her or his ass is pushed up with each thrust...

hip rotation in perspective tends to be one of my animated muses, that unfortunately tends to be lost in flash / tweening. I'll be keeping it alive and well in my classic animations whenever possible.

  • Beautiful! The only critique I can give is her face - considering how the rest of her is moving, the static expression feels a bit strange. The shadows seem to dance around her muzzle a bit unpredictably, as well.

Re: playing it safe with the hair... I am VERY MUCH looking forward to when you let loose on secondary motion. The floppiest of ears... :>

How many frames / what fps is this?

  • Removed the female tag, readded the male/male tag. Chua are male and it looks very male to me. At best, this could be ambiguous_gender, I suppose.

    Very nicely animated.

Yeah i could definitely do better with the face. I used a cropped image and slightly altered it as I went as a time saver, since it's super apparent when proportional inconsistencies show up in an animated face and I'm not the most confident in my head rotations yet. Shadows dancing around were from a rushed color job (using an airbrush tool) would simply be solved by slowing down and being a little less sloppy.

This animation is 10 frames at 24fps.

Dude how long did this take for you to make?!

Probably about 3hours for the base animation when i auctioned it off as a YCH, then about 3 hours to skin a character over it with more accurate proportions (instead of just doing a literal draw-over) then about 2 hours to do the coloring, using airbrush instead of crisp edges.

So, about 8 hours, or an average work day.

  • Is the tail see through? Because I can see the outline of his body through his tail.

Besides that, Amazing work you made :)

I wasn't sure whether i wanted the tail to completely cover the side or not, so i just left the linework in, since there's a lot of the form that is hidden by the tail.

I get what you're saying, the tail thing's no big deal to me.
