Disney Animated Classics/Canon

The feature films made by Walt Disney Animation Studios and its predecessors, along with the franchises started by them.

Disney Television Animation

Various TV series made by their TV animation studio. Note that some of the franchises mentioned above (such as The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Lilo & Stitch) also received an animated TV series (more than one in the cases of the latter two).

The Disney Afternoon era
Disney's One Saturday Morning and ABC Kids
Disney Channel and/or Disney XD Original Series
Other animated series
  • Disney's The Little Mermaid – Same tag as the film. It was shown on CBS during its time, and is not part of The Disney Afternoon.
  • Doug (series) – Originally a Nicktoon, Disney acquired the series in 1996 and retooled it as Brand Spanking New! Doug, later retitled to Disney's Doug in 1998. Despite this, neither Disney nor Nickelodeon should be tagged alongside this for any Doug posts outside of crossovers with either companies' characters.
  • 101 Dalmatians: The Series – Same tag as the film and franchise. It was part of both the Disney Afternoon and One Saturday Morning during its run.
  • Fireball (Disney) – A Japan-exclusive CGI anime series.
  • Stitch! – An anime spin-off of the Lilo & Stitch franchise; the tag is implicated to the lilo_and_stitch tag.
  • Stitch & Ai** – A Chinese animated series spin-off of the Lilo & Stitch franchise; the tag is implicated to the lilo_and_stitch tag.
  • Legend of the Three Caballeros – Web-exclusive animated series based on The Three Caballeros; include the film's tag with this.
  • 101 Dalmatian Street – British-Canadian Flash-animated series based on 101 Dalmatians; the tag is implicated to the 101_dalmatians tag.
Live-action films

Various live-action films produced by Walt Disney Studios, including those with animated segments.

Other animation

Other Disney copyrights relating to animation that don't fit with the above.

Original works
  • Chicken Little (1943) – An animated short film that was the company's first adaptation of the fable before the 2005 CGI feature film.
  • Disney Villains – A franchise based on Disney's popular villainous characters. (There isn't a known establishing year for this franchise, so it's positioned here based on the release of the book The Disney Villain, which was written by Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas and released in 1993.)
  • Runaway Brain – A rather dark Mickey Mouse cartoon released in 1995 about Mickey getting his brain swapped with that of a monster's.
  • Disney Princess – A franchise based on Disney's popular princess characters that officially began in 2000.
  • The Three Musketeers (Disney) – Referring to Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers, a 2004 direct-to-video animated film in which Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy play the titular trio of the name from Alexandre Dumas' famous novel.
  • The Ballad of Nessie – A 2011 traditionally animated short film about the Loch Ness Monster.
  • Get a Horse! – A 2013 animated short film that initially seems like a long lost 1920s Mickey Mouse cartoon, until Pete knocks Mickey into the modern era.
  • Planes – A 2013 to 2014 two-film series spun-off from Pixar's Cars that were produced by Disneytoon Studios.
  • Feast (Disney) – A 2014 3D computer-cel animated romantic comedy short film about a Boston Terrier named Winston who gorges on junk food while his owner develops a relationship with a waitress.
Acquired
  • Pixar – A world-renowned computer animation studio based in Emeryville, California. Disney has distributed their films since 1995, but the studio didn't become part of TWDC itself until 2006. See its wiki page for their films and franchises.
  • Blue Sky Studios – A computer animation studio based in Greenwich, Connecticut that is best known for the Ice Age and Rio franchises. They became part of Disney when the animation studio's parent 20th Century Fox (renamed 20th Century Studios in January 2020) was acquired in 2019. This tag will currently remain separate from Disney for consistency purposes until further notice.
  • The Simpsons – The longest-running American scripted primetime television series featuring the titular dysfunctional family of the same name. Created by Matt Groening, it started as a series of shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show running from April 1987 to May 1989, before becoming an independent series in December 1989. The series and its franchise became part of Disney when they acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019. The Simpsons will remain separately tagged from Disney for consistency purposes.
Other copyrights

Other Disney copyrights that don't fit with the above, including copyrights purchased by Disney.

  • Disney Parks – The company's theme park division, overlooking Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and other Disneyland resorts. See its wiki page for the parks, attractions, and affiliated characters.
  • ESPN – A television channel which Disney owns 80% of which focuses on sports.
  • The Muppets – The famous ensemble cast of puppet characters were bought by Disney in 2004, although Jim Henson initially negotiated with Disney to purchase the characters and Jim Henson Productions until they broke down after his death in 1990 and Disney acquired licenses to the characters prior to their purchase.
  • Disney Fairies – A spin-off franchise of Peter Pan established in 2005 focusing on Tinkerbell and other fairies like her.
  • Club Penguin – A Flash browser game (and its franchise) that debuted in 2005; Disney purchased it and its developer in 2007. The Flash game shut down in 2017 and was replaced by a mobile game called Club Penguin Island, which itself was shut down (along with the franchise) in 2018.
  • That's So Raven – A live-action Disney Channel sitcom lasting from 2003 to 2007 about a girl who can see into the future. (However, many furries and TF fans also know it for "that one cow transformation episode".)
    • Cory in the House – A live-action Disney Channel sitcom lasting from 2007 to 2008 spun-off from That's So Raven about that show's protagonist's younger brother living in the White House. Jokingly called "the best anime ever".
  • Marvel – A comic book-based entertainment company famous for its superhero comics; Disney purchased Marvel Entertainment in 2009. This tag is tagged separately from Disney for consistency purposes.
  • Star Wars – The popular space opera franchise became part of Disney when the company bought Lucasfilm in 2012. This tag is tagged separately from Disney for consistency purposes.
  • Indiana Jones (franchise) – The popular action adventure franchise focused around the character of the same name likewise also became part of Disney from the Lucasfilm purchase. This tag is tagged separately from Disney for consistency purposes.
  • UniBEARsity – A Japanese line of teddy bears based on Disney and Pixar characters, established circa 2013.
  • Disney Infinity – A toys-to-life video game series that lasted from 2013 to 2016.
