四楓院 夜一 Shihōin Yoruichi, Yoruichi Shihōin

Fictional character from the mixed media series Bleach. Yoruichi is the former Captain of the 2nd Division of the Gotei 13 in Spirit Society as well as the former commander of the elite Onmitsukidō (the Secret Tactics Division). She abandoned both positions suddenly and unexpectedly to aid Kisuke Urahara in the human world. Yoruichi is able to transform herself into a small domestic black cat at will, a skill she uses often in the human world to avoid detection and eavesdrop. While in this form her voice becomes distinctly masculine.

Personailty
Descended from nobility within Spirit Society, Yoruichi holds a noble title but rarely allows others to call her by honorifics or titles (with one exception being her dear friend Suì-Fēng whom she allows to call her "Yoruichi-sama" because of Suì-Fēng's fierce dedication to her). In action and speech Yoruichi is cool and reserved as well as calculating and precise. Every word and action is measured and carefully weighed to determine it's outcome and her intellect is as sharp as her wit. Yoriuchi is calm and mature in her everyday life, but she can also be flippant and a bit playful when the mood strikes her. These characteristics make her close friends with Rangiku Matsumoto who shares very similar characteristics in her personality.

It is not known how Yoriuchi came to have the ability to transform into a cat, but it is clearly evident she enjoys the form. Using it predominantly in her daily life (possibly as an excuse not to be asked to perform mundane tasks) and taking great offense when people make fun of her appearance (evidenced in an episode where her tail was damaged and she became enraged). She delights in transforming from her cat form into her human form in front of people, especially since her cat form has a distinctly male voice. Often when she does so she appears naked as well, much to the chagrin of Ichigo Kurosaki whom she relentlessly teases for his modesty.

Abilities
In combat Yoruichi prefers hand-to-hand combat, using it exclusively instead of her Zanpakutō. She is a Hakuda Master and regarded as the strongest hand-to-hand fighter in all of Spirit Society. She also holds the shunpo title "Flash Goddess" because of her incredible speed. She is even able to use her shunpo speed to create at least 1 tangible after-image of herself should the need arise. Because of her preference for hand-to-hand Kisuke created a set of Anti-Hierro Armor, a set of boots and gauntlets, for Yoruichi that was specifically designed to counter the Hierro power of high level Arrancar. Yoruichi must wield a Zanpakutō (as the Captain of the 2nd Division it would be a requirement) but it is never revealed in the series and both it's Shikai and Bankai are a mystery.
