D.Va is a tank oriented hero in the game with abilities that are focused to a role of blocking incoming damage and quickly charging into combat using her mech. D.Va came to her role as a MEKA pilot following the Omnic attacks on South Korea when it was realized that drones would no longer work against the Omnic, the Korean Government began an extensive recruitment program for pilots. It was soon discovered that gamers had the aptitude and reflexes necessary to become great pilots and the best among them was Hana Song a.k.a. "D.Va" in the online community.

Personality
D.Va is a fierce combatant, even outside of her mech, known for her merciless nature and strong desire to win at any cost. While she is currently a MEKA Pilot she has not forgotten her gamer roots and will often use gaming jargon during combat. D.Va is, as evidenced by her pseudonym, a bit of a real life diva, delighting in the adoration and attention of her fans and never afraid to give autographs or thank the audience after a victory.
