Playable character from the first person action shooter Overwatch created by Blizzard Entertainment. He is voiced by Crispin Freeman.

Winston is a tank oriented hero whose abilities focus on maneuverability and a strong defensive barrier. Winston was one of the dozens of Gorilla test subjects taken to the Horizon Lunar Colony as part of an experiment to see how prolonged exposure to the low gravity environment would affect human-like physiology. Winston is genetically engineered like his Gorilla compatriots, however he exhibited early on a much more rapid brain development than any other specimen. As such he was taken into the personal care of Dr. Harold Winston who mentored him in the ways of science and inspired him with tales of human ingenuity and determination. Unfortunately the other Gorillas on the lunar colony revolted against their caretakers and attacked, killing the humans and claiming the colony as their own. Winston took on the name of his beloved caretaker and assembled a makeshift rocket to escape the colony and return to Earth. There he found the organization known as Overwatch and with his enhanced intellect and physical prowess he found a way he could continue his mentor's dream of a better world.

Personality
Winston is a soft spoken and gentle giant who can manifest his physical power in a terrific rage when provoked. Winston is sometimes clumsy but always takes great care to avoid harming innocents. When complimented he is prone to stuttering and bashfully turning away. Winston is a tremendous proponent of the Overwatch Agency and even goes so far as to consider all agents of the organization a part of his extended family. He is closest friends with Tracer whom he helped with the development of the chronal accelerator. Winston loves bananas and peanut butter, taking great pleasure in mixing the two, though he detests being called a "monkey".
