Playable character from the first person action shooter Overwatch created by Blizzard Entertainment. She is voiced by Zhang Yu.

Mei is a defense oriented hero whose abilities focus on slowing enemy combatants and obstructing lanes of movement and lines of fire by creating a physical ice barricade. Mei joined Overwatch in an effort to help discover why global climate changes were happening at an accelerated rate. As a highly skilled climatologist she was assigned to Watchpoint: Antarctica to observe climate change there. However a sudden freak ice storm swept through the area and all but destroyed the research base. Unable to escape, their supplies dwindling, and communication unavailable the remaining scientists, including Mei, entered cryostasis. It was years later before an excavation could find and unearth the cryostasis chambers...in the end only Mei's tube continued to function through the years. The world that Mei woke to was drastically changed, the climate situation had worsened and Overwatch had been disbanded along with all of the climate watch stations they managed. Despite this Mei vowed to find the reason for the climate change and armed with her portable Climate Alteration Device she traveled the world seeking to end the global climate catastrophe.

Personality
Mei is a kind and compassionate person who values the ecosystem and nature deeply. She despises bullies or anyone who picks on those weaker than themselves and is fiercely loyal. She is closest to Winston and Tracer, admiring both of them for their unshakable faith in themselves and Overwatch.
