A sleeveless shirt, usually exposing much of the back, with a halterneck in the form of a strap going behind and around the neck (instead of over the shoulders) and a narrow strap behind the middle of the back. So called because the strap design resembles a halter used for livestock.

The traditional chinese dudou garment is classified as a halter_top blouse. A roughly Diamond shaped piece of cloth with halterneck straps that covers the torso tying around the neck and the horizontal corners tying around the back.

Not to be confused with a crop top.
