This state may only last for a very brief moment before a character realizes what is happening. This duration is meaningless in the context of a static image, and even a brief period of uncertainty will qualify for this tag.

This concept tends to be visualized with a primarily blank expression highlighting the idea of a character processing information. This theme can feature a wide variety of expressions due to the often context-driven nature, and the inclusion of questioning remarks ("What?", "What the?", "Umm?", etc), or the standalone question mark, or interrobang reaction.
