A fourth-dimensional being. Knotty's true form is beyond our comprehension, so, in order to interact with us lesser beings, it manifests itself as a peacock.
Any attempts to communicate with Knotty are met with incomprehensible screaming. Its vocal outbursts have been analyzed for consistency, but evidence of language or intelligence has yet to be determined.
Experts all agree that Knotty is very pretty to look at, but it is best viewed from a distance. It does not tolerate being approached aggressively or being touched. Violations of its personal space will be met with screaming, followed by death.
Knotty cannot fly, rather, it spreads its wings and the universe revolves around it, creating the illusion of flight to three-dimensional observers.
Its mating ritual involves seductive screaming and vigorous shaking of wings and buttfeathers, followed by tossing food on the ground next to its prospective mate and hoping for the best. It's bound to work sooner or later.
