Uploads of Flash content to e621 have been disabled since February 2021 due to the near-complete deprecation of Flash Player by Adobe on December 31st, 2020. Existing Flash posts will continue to be hosted.

A term referring to a type of file created using Adobe Flash often used for animations. The tag is semi-redundant, since searching for flashes can be done by the type:swf search phrase.

Note that Flash Player will no longer work in the browser without workarounds and the use of an outdated browser that supports NPAPI/PPAPI plugins (not recommended). To view Flash content in modern browsers and on mobile devices, it is recommended to use the Ruffle emulator.

• This is used to describe both animated and non-animated flash files. If the post is not animated, use one of the following instead:
• slideshow - for when the post is just a series of static images
• flash_game - often text games where there is no actual movement
• dress up - a specific type of game where the purpose is to change a character's clothes, eye colour, hair style, etc.
