Meta: color edit
An edit by someone other than the artist which adds color to, or changes the colors of, an existing image.
In most cases, this involves adding flat color or simple cel shading to a sketch or line art. A color edit will rarely add significant details or complex rendering to the artwork, and maintain the lines of the original piece.
Notes
- Unofficial color edits will generally be deleted if an official colored version is posted — (see comment #5348954).
- Not to be confused with colored, which simply denotes that an image is the color version of a previously uncolored image, regardless of who colored it
