Meta: better version at source
This label is used for posts that have a better public version at the source listed. It's often abbreviated as just "bvas". Instances include:
- The source's version is significantly larger.
- The source's version is of the same size but has a higher image quality, such as lossless compression or lesser lossy compression and upscaling issues.
- The source's version is too large to be uploaded here or otherwise cannot be posted directly due to some technical reason.
- An avoid_posting rule prevents the source's version from being posted.
In most cases, the better version should be uploaded instead, and the other version should be flagged for deletion.
This tag should not be used to indicate that private/pay versions exist at the source. Instead, use better_version_at_paywall or alternate_version_at_paywall.
If you need help on getting the best quality version of something from a source, see howto:sites and sources.
