Quaxly (クワッス Kuwassu) is a Water-type Pokémon, and along with Sprigatito and Fuecoco is one of the three starter Pokémon from Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Classified as the Duckling Pokémon, Quaxly are known for being earnest and tidy.

Quaxly was first revealed to the public as the third Generation IX Pokémon starter during the Pokémon Presents video presentation on February 27, 2022.

Physical appearance:

Quaxly is a bipedal Pokémon who looks like a small duck. Its two wings and almost its entire body are covered in immaculate white plumage. It has two legs with light-blue webbed feet. This color is also found on the thick crest that this Pokémon has on its head, giving the impression that this little duck has a haircut.
This "hairstyle" takes the form of a beret or bachi, with a wisp running forward, and a white, rounded W-shaped pattern on the front.
On its face, it has a yellow beak and two large eyes with dark blue irises and white pupils.

Quaxly draws its inspiration from ducks, and more broadly from seabirds. The light blue color of its legs and crest seem to be a reference to the blue-footed booby, a seabird species known for its blue legs.
