balancing on tail
post #1072706 post #2309958 post #3110133 post #1516442
A character supporting most or all of their weight with their tail. Usually, the character's tail is their only body part contacting the ground, raising the rest of their body into the air.
Apode
In general, the tail of apodes begins after their genital region, which is usually located near the end of their body if anatomically correct, so balancing_on_tail is most appropriate when only that part of their body contacts the ground.
Non-feral apodes often have their genitals at their midsection, making the above distinction irrelevant for them, and their standard upright posture may look like other creatures' balancing_on_tail. However, an apode in its standard upright posture likely is not balancing any more than a normal biped does when standing upright. Moreover, the point of balancing_on_tail is to highlight an unconventional posture. Thus, this tag is best applied to non-feral apodes in abnormal on_tail postures that can reasonably be described as balancing.
