Species: therrigon
Therrigons are an open custom species created by StarryDraco. Visually, they can be described as foxes with antlers and wings, though they can resemble any number of canines. Lore-wise, they're a druidic amalgam of different beasts made for the specific purpose of dragon slaying in pack formation, though over the millennia that they had existed, they had evolved from their primal therian forms into more anthropomorphic creatures, similar to the druids that created their species.
Primal therrigons resemble dragons more than any other beast, at least in terms of shape. Though, primal therrigons are too heavy to sustain flight the same way dragons can. Instead, their powerful leg muscles allow them to jump at their quarry, dragging them back to the ground where the rest of the pack can attack. If the therrigon were to miss, their wings are still steady enough to allow them to glide safely down. The saliva of primal therrigons is also suffused with a numbing toxin that is able to bypass even the strongest dragon's constitution.
Modern therrigons have these features stripped back by a lot: Their legs, while powerful compared to other anthropomorphic creatures, cannot let them jump extraordinary distances without serious physical training; their wings are mostly vestigial, and cannot even maintain a glide; and their saliva is only a slightly more potent sedative than human saliva.
Paralleling these evolutionary changes, the necessity of dragon hunting has also diminished. Very few, if any, therrigons feel any kind of compulsion to hunt dragons; though instinctively, some may tense their legs to prepare for a jump if they see a dragon (or sometimes a plane) flying close overhead.
