In the 1940 Merrie Melodies short Cross Country Detours, directed by Tex Avery, there's a gag in which a lizard becomes anthro and sheds her skin in the manner of a striptease, as seen in this clip:

This character languished in obscurity for decades until the artist Herny started drawing her on his Tumblr, adopting her as a quasi-OC and even (per suggestion) giving her the fan nickname she is often referred to as—a pun on "rotoscoped," in reference to how she was animated in the short.
