perspective-incorrect texturing

Perspective-incorrect texturing, known on TV Tropes as Unmoving Plaid, is an artistic technique where a complex texture is applied to an object (usually clothing) with no accordance to the perspective and depth of it.

Often a static and tessellating pattern, the texture is seen through an alpha channel or chroma keyed in. The texture will appear flat with exception to shading and optical illusions. If the medium is animated, the pattern should remain fixed to the screen while other things move over or around it, creating a parallax effect

An example of perspective-incorrect texturing includes clothing in Chowder. Common patterns for clothing are fishnets, camo print, and plaid.
