Pingu Penguin is the main character of the media franchise centered around him and his family of anthropomorphic emperor penguins who live around the South Pole in Antarctica. It all started with a television program for children that originally aired in Switzerland, being produced from 1990 to 2000 by the Swiss company the Pygos Group (originally called Editoy AG and then, later, Pingu BV). Revived from 2003 to 2006 for the organization CBeebies by British companies HIT Entertainment and HOT Animation, the series and its main star have achieved popularity in the meme-obsessed "internet age" proper. With prominent black and white colors across his body as well as an inherent curiosity, Pingu enjoys all types of adventure.
