An animation meme is a type of animated trend popular on video streaming sites like YouTube and TikTok, where artists re-animate an "original" meme, typically to a song, with their own characters and/or in their style.

Most animation memes are in the form of a short music video, with parts of the animation repeated or looped in time with music. Though early animation memes like caramelldansen were more along the lines of an animated draw_this_in_your_style meme. They are usually more focused on creating a satisfying visual experience than telling a story.
