In Broadside Beach, Starlings, sometimes called Dwellers, are a form of experimental undead. They are typically identifiable by empty, black eyes, as well as unnatural growths such as large sharp teeth. Most known Starlings are bound to a mascot costume, and even ones which aren't, such as Jawhne Dough (a.k.a. "Vandal"), may voluntarily take on the appearance of one. Not much about their true nature has been revealed, but they have a strong connection to the island of Nulla Terra.

Their name seems to be a play on the Hollywood term "Starlet" (meaning a young actress being trained for highly publicized roles in the future), as well as a starling bird's ability to mimic sounds around them.
