the chariot (tarot)
One of the Major Arcana defined in tarot. In typical portrayals, the Chariot is a person standing in the driver's seat of a chariot, wearing various symbols of courage, mental power, and achievement. Two sphinxes of opposite color are pulling the chariot in different directions. A river and city are visible in the background.
In cartomancy, the upright Chariot arcanum is interpreted as control, willpower, success, action, and determination.
The reversed Chariot arcanum is interpreted as self-discipline, opposition, and lack of direction.
