Character: anthro anon

When an anon character is anthropomorphic rather than vaguely human/humanoid. Like other anons, an anthro anon is intended to be a generic placeholder figure, shown interacting with or reacting to fully drawn characters.

Anthro Anon Features

For the most part, anthro anons are similar to standard anon characters, outside of their explicitly anthropomorphic features as noted below.

  • Most anthro anons are canine, with a canine snout and erect ears.
  • May have claws, paws, and tufts of fur, this is notable when the character's face is obscured or offscreen.
  • Typically have text such as "you", "ych", "anon", or a question mark on their face, body, or clothing.
  • Minimal facial features.
    • Most anthro anons will only have a visible mouth or simple face for expressions, and optionally blush lines, a shadow, or text in place of their eyes.
  • A single colour body, often white, grey, green, or light blue.
    • Anthro anons may have countershading, in a lighter tone than the rest of their body.

Not to be confused with...

  • anonymous character - While sharing the same purpose of being generic stand-ins, anonymous characters typically have more defining features physically.
  • faceless anthro — Unless the character is intended as an anthro anon — e.g. being a single flat colour, even in areas not covered by fur, and entirely generic features.
