tail betrayal
This tag is for when a character tries to act a certain way, but their true emotions are revealed by unconscious movements of their animalistic body-parts, most often tails.
This applies to a character exhibitng doglike behaviors attempting to hide happiness or excitement while their tail is wagging, for example. The opposite is also true, as long as the tail’s behaviors are established or called to attention.
This tag also applies to, for example, characters exhibiting catlike behavior hiding annoyance while their tail is thrashing (a sign of anger or annoyance in cats), but should not be confused for genuinely happy catlike characters exhibiting doglike behaviors such as a tailwag.
Other situations this tag applies to include but are not limited to:
Hiding fear but the tail stands on end and/or bristles,
Hiding jealousy but the body and/or tail bristles,
For lizard-like characters, hiding fear but the tail pops off,
For birdlike characters, hiding aggression but the wings extend,
For characters with animal-like ears, hiding annoyance but the ears repeatedly flick.
