A colored cosmetic, typically in powder form, applied to the eyelids or to the skin around the eyes to accentuate them.

Note that eyeshadow is not the same as eyeliner: eyeshadow is more often than not used upon the whole upper eyelid, whereas eyeliner is used very close to the lashline and can also be used to encircle the whole eye as well, commonly seen in things like goth aesthetics.
