A mummy is a corpse preserved by removing it's organs and deeply cutting the muscles on its limbs and packing the resultant cavities with spices; wrapped in bandages. The idea that they reanimate when someone desecrates their tombs to steal the treasure the corpse was interred with is not present in any folklore, and was made up whole-cloth for the 1932 Universal Pictures horror movie "The Mummy." There is no "daddy", as the term is gender-neutral. This tag can still apply to images or animations that features mummies as long as they still show some qualities of being or are at least canonically one.

Do not confuse this tag for mummy_costume; use that tag for characters appearing to wear the costume that imitates mummies. This is especially important because the mummy tag will automatically add undead to those posts, but characters merely wearing a mummy costume are usually not visibly undead.
