Cybernetics are electromechanical devices that are designed to be attached to a biological organism's body. Typically they are artificial body parts that are intended to replace or enhance their natural counterparts, but may also include things such as entirely new limbs (e.g. a third arm or a pair of wings) or a microchip implant.

Not to be Confused with

• Bionics - Although bionics are a type of cybernetics, cybernetics can appear more mechanical while as bionics are meant to look more like their biological counterpart.
• Prosthetic - Although cybernetics are a type of prosthetic, prosthetics can also include such things as wooden peglegs and glass eyes.
