History: Originally constructed to serve as an exterior security system for SYSCAN, the computer mainframe in charge of Candor's irrigation system and hydroelectric power grid, shortly after the passing of Lycaena, the computer's creator. This project was authorized by Catatu, who also augmented Ava's original AI and incorporated a soul into the programming, using the soul fragment left from Lycaena. Due to her self-awareness, Ava was afraid of ever leaving the house, maintaining herself and SYSCAN alone on stored material for the next ~200 years. She was finally forced outside by SYSCAN to interact with Beyle, allowing her to make her first friend and confidante. Later, the connection between SYSCAN and SYSHINK was briefly patched from a passing lightning storm, and Ava travelled to the site of Hinkley to find the source of the connection. There she met Photon, a long-forgotten android, badly worn from age. She made some crucial fixes, but Photon's body was later destroyed by the corruption, Asper. Ava, having developed a connection to Photon, spends a month in solitude restoring her friend with his mainboard. Photon is restored with a new body and helps Ava to learn about and accept parts of herself she never thought she could.
