I think image macros and memes should be disallowed. I love em, I collect em, but they're a large number of MLP submissions in themselves and are kinda meh anyway. There are better places to find macros and memes, and I don't think this should be one of them.

I'm honestly surprised tha this, a feature that was initially brought up on request during Arcturus' reign, and that has been iomplimented so quickly after the switchover, comparatively, is being complained about. -.-

Every page will be completely full of art, no matter what you've got blacklisted (unless you blacklist everything, I suppose).

All that this issue with My Little Pony has done is underline a critical area of site functionality that needs to be improved. It is nothing but the site failing to provide you with the experience that you were looking for. Therefore, we will make the site better, and currently plan to do so as mentioned above. But the one answer that we will absolutely not implement, as long as I'm e621's lead admin, is to ban specific content simply because we get too much of it. That is the lazy and destructive way out, and that is not how I'm going to run this site.

ok i have one thing to point out about the mlp and blacklisting program when you blacklist mlp or anything for that matter it cuts the amount shown per page i looked up magic just now and instead of you know over 12 pics a page its 6 because iv blacklisted mlp.....im not sure if this is the first of this but is there a way to fix this with out takeing mlp off my blacklist? because i would much prefer to keep that junk out of my viewing as much as possible

Well, if there's a character you really like or have cherished memories of (say a good movie you enjoyed or video game) and that character's pictured with a character you hate... it can be aggravating.

Especially when a powerful character from a famous game or classic movie is crossed with a pony, which makes no sense since the ponies in the show are for the most part passive and by no means a warrior.

Just my two cents.

i don't think anything quite exploded in sheer voracity as ponies did. Not even the Pokemon/Digimon crazes were quite so virulent and, frankly, large.

though that was probably due to the fact that the internet wasn't as much a part of life as it is now.

Some will be passive, try to find a way to reconcile their differences without a fight {Twilight and pinkie pie} And some will fight without a second thought if their forced too {AJ and Rainbow}

I'm not saying it will, but I am saying it's being overused. I don't think it's a coincidence that a large amount of posts happen to be MLP whenever I enter the site.

My reasoning behind stating that there are many haters is that there's simply a flood of MLP crap 24/7 and this thread was created to solve the negative connotations associated with it.

I never actually stated there were more haters than fans, though I would imagine a good percentage of e621 users find MLP too "girly" and stupid. It's like Barney, IMO: Liking MLP would probably cause me to kill myself. (yes I am exaggerating, but you get the point) I would probably have a similar feeling if Barbie or Disney princesses flooded the site also.

Yeah, the people that upload the MLP art like it. That's all we know, aside from knowing a few other people that may like it.

I think it only matters if a FEW people like it, that's why it's staying on the site. And I doubt that the rating system is being utilized to its full extent, so we can't really go by what a submission's rating is.
