A greeting is an attempt to acknowledge the presence of oneself, or another character upon meeting. This tag also refers to common messages pertaining to the idea of a greeting.

Methods

- Verbal communication, such as saying "Hello", or "Good morning". More traditional greetings also apply ("Merry Christmas!").
- Simple greetings such as "Hey there".
- Body language and gestures, such as a handshake, or hand wave.
- Mental greetings probably should be included here for convenience. A character greeting someone through internal monologue, but not stating it out loud.

A greeting can also be part of a message, sign, part of written or printed material, or captioned on the image itself.
