Pubes are the "generic" tag for any sort of "additional" hair in the pubic region—that is to say, near the genitals.

For characters who are naturally covered in fur, this tag is used to describe extra hair around the genitals. Generally, this hair is either a different color, or of a different quality than the rest of the fur on the character's body, though often both are true. This may also apply for feathers, or any other type of natural body covering.

Not to be confused with crotch_tuft which is for fur of similar color/texture to that of the rest of the fur on the character's body. For search and/or blacklist purposes, pubes and crotch_tuft can be tagged together.

For characters who are not typically covered in fur, the pubes are generally much more easily visible.
