In the videogame The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Yiga are Sheikah that want Calamity Ganon back to ravage Hyrule. Their main goal is to kill Link so their plan can come to fruition. In the sequel Tears of the Kingdom, they are assisting Ganon's efforts to conquer Hyrule.

They only eat Mighty Bananas, native to the Faron region, west of the Gerudo Desert, which is where their hideout is.
