motion onomatopoeia
An umbrella tag for onomatopoeia closely associated with motion. With the exception of velocity sound effects, these will almost certainly by action verbs.
Tagging guidelines
- Do not use for a sound effect that is the result of motion. Motion onomatopoeia describe the motion itself as a sound effect.
- Some verbs are better to use for this tag than others. Consider whether the verb involves physical contact, or not. There should be minimal overlap between contact sound effects, and motion sound effects. A term should better fit into one group or the other, and if it is unclear consider leaving the verb uncategorized.
Example: Rub should be tagged as contact_onomatopoeia instead even though it requires movement.
The reason for tagging this way is to avoid complex relationships that exist with verbs that occupy multiple categories.
