Major Types of Electric Fan

- handheld electric fan - a small fan usually powered by batteries, held by the user to blow air into their face
- box fan - a large fan in a box frame, used when an oscillating fan is undesirable or unneeded. Blows more air in a linear direction. Usually features a carrying handle and typically rests on the floor or a table when in use.
- bladeless fan - this may resemble a column that rotates in a similar fashion to a typical oscillating fan, or resemble a "hoop" that pushes air through it.
Many other variants of electric fans exist, but may not be worth a specific tag, such as window mounted fans, industrial fans — which are extremely large, used in power plants and factories — wall mounted fans,
