Character: bast
Bast, also known as Bastet, Pasch, and Ubasti is the Cat-headed Egyptian goddess of domestic cats, protection, and pleasure.
The most common myth regarding her origin is that Bast was originally Sekhmet, daughter and embodiment of the Wrath of Ra. Sekhmet was the lion-headed goddess of war created by the eye of Ra to smite humanity after Ra became old and senile resulting in the loss of his divine powers. However, when it became evident that she would not cease her rampage until the extinction of humanity, Ra and the other Egyptian Gods decided to trick her into drinking large quantities of beer dyed red, which Sekhmet mistook for the blood of her enemies. After consuming the beer she became drunk and lost consciousness giving the gods the opportunity to extract her divine essence splitting it off into the more subdued Bast and/or Hathor.
