Scene is an alternative subculture that originated in the 2000s. Members of the subculture are called scene kids, scenesters, or scene kings and queens. The term scene kid is used regardless of age, despite "kid" in the name.

The subculture is associated with various music genres, but particularly crunkcore, metalcore, electronic, and pop punk.

Because of TWYS, this tag refers specifically to the presentation and fashion of a character, rather than whether that character is actually part of the subculture.

The most distinctive feature of scene fashion is the hair, which borrows the fringe bangs that often cover one eye from typical emo hairstyles, and instead focuses on the hair being big, bright, and fluffy. Coontails are a staple of scene hair.

Scene is often confused with emo, although the two have distinct differences. Scene fashion is much more colorful, as it tries to draw attention to the wearer.

Many scene kids were furries, and a subgenre of sparkledog art involved scene fashion, particularly with the gaudy accessories and big fluffy hair. These types of sparkledogs were known as scenedogs.

In addition to the term "scene kid", famous members of the subculture, particularly on Myspace, were called "scene queens" and "scene kings".
