Drake, as most of us well know already, is a unique guy. Although he is classified as a Mountain-type Dragon, he is very much different than others. Despite the average build he has, he shares a lot more features with that of Wyverns than other standard winged-dragons. He has a fully functioning pair of hands on his wings that he can articulate just as well as his normal ones, a longer neck, his wings start on his lower back instead of by his shoulders, and has digitigrade legs. It is a build unique to Valden royalty. As for his character, Drake is a compassionate soul. He is always there to listen and help when needed, and strives to live up to the role that he was raised to inherit. As a policy maker, he is resolute, fair, and not afraid to add a little bite to his bark to get his way. All-in-all, he is the shining example of the qualities one would expect to come from a king. It is his hope that if Valden succeeds with this attitude, that it will set a precedent on future generations on how things should be done. However, it took a number of factors though to develop this mentality.

Drake started well-off (as to be expected), and got to know the country his father, the former king, allowed to develop. He grew in a society of privelage and special treatment. This esspecially rang true with the nobility his father surrounded himself with, and it was causing noticeable problems throughout the domain. Drake saw a lot of these people as insufferable yes-men itching for a chance to grab the King's grace for personal gain, and it extended to dignitaries of other countries as well. As for his mother, she was there, but was usually too wrapped up in her role as a socialite. His father did also care about Drake and brought him along on a lot of his business trips. However, when there he was prone to spending more time appeasing diplomats than the young prince. Instead, Drake would be toured around the town capitals, or looked towards other kids to entertain himself with, and took a particular shine to the antics of Myriad's princess Excalibur. During this time, he would also get to know the overworked Chamberlain of Valden's court and his young wife Koriah, who he saw as a big sister figure. He was particularly drawn to some of the ideas she had to fix the broken system. However, even as the wife of a court member, she had little influence to make her voice heard. Such things began to leave a deep impression.

By the end of his father's reign, Valden's economy was exhausted. After his passing, Drake was anointed king at the age of 25. He inherited a country breaking under the weight of generations of lavish spending, and it was in dire need of a turn around. Without hesitation, he began pushing some of Koriah's policies to the court, and the court became bitter with talk of paying extra taxes (if they even paid them at all). Beyond a single vote from the chamberlain, no one backed any of the improvements. The court proved to be too unreasonable and unyielding to give up the privilage knew to provide back to the country. Not even a year later, the Chamberlain succumbed to an illness (thought to have been brought on by the stress of his job), and passed leaving no one in the court who supported him. Consoling a grieving Koriah, Drake finally had enough. The story goes that Drake then brought them all to the harbor of Port Gustel under the guise of greeting foreign royalty who he said offered to help. Once their presence drew a crowd from the impoverished masses, Drake invited them all to witness as he tried to force the court to have a final meeting in the town square to fix the economy. They either fix something or tell the people to their faces why they must remain poor. His gamble to bring the issue to the people, and get results or risk something worse. When the court refused to sit calling treason, it provided Drake with everything he needed to speak to the masses of the state of things, dissolve the inept court, and decree new policies that pumped money back to the masses to stimulate the economy starting with what was in his own pocket. The move sent a chill through the other nobility, and rumors began to spread about what happened to the old court that day. To quell their fears, and instil l his new policies, the Drake would meet with all of them to discuss what was at stake and that times were changing, and for the most part, he was successful. With Ruze's resounding victory over the invading nation of Sephrus, morale began to grow. Drake saw the impact this battle had on his people, and used it to lay the foundation for his new council system, "The Seven Generals". Koriah was immediately appointed as it's very first member.

With the old system shattered and his country at his back, Drake turned to the people and his military to begin to rebuild. He organized relief, rebuilt infrastructure, and showed he was not afraid to get his hands dirty to do his part as well. During the reconstruction, he would come across all the others he would appoint as his Generals, and with the collective effort of them all would usher in the new age of prosperity for Valden in a few short years. Currently in his story, he is in a relationship with his childhood friend, Excalibur.
