Younger brother of Clive Rosfield (the main character of Square Enix's Final Fantasy XVI) and prince of the Duchy of Rosaria.

He awakened since birth as the dominant of Phoenix, the eikon of fire.

In the events that happen in the game prologue, Joshua goes on a rampage and primes into Phoenix, killing nearly everyone in close proximity and is shortly after confronted by the infernal eikon, Ifrit. The furious battle that ensues nearly killed him (the player doesn't know about his survival until later into the game).
