The Fox is a mysterious, possibly demonic and supernatural entity featured in Cult of the Lamb. He takes the appearance of a large red fox wearing a dark gray robe with a triangular hood. One his ears is slightly torn, he has an upside down cross on his forehead, and sharp teeth and claws. Unlike the vast majority of characters, The Fox's voice has a distinct echo and resonance as he speaks. The Fox will appear exclusively at night in 4 overworld locations: Pilgrim's Passage, Spore Grotto, Smuggler's Sanctuary, and Midas' Cave. He can be summoned by standing on a moon symbol and selecting "Peer into the darkness..." resulting in him emerging from a shadowy portal. Each time he is encountered he will ask The Lamb for food in exchange for a Holy Talisman fragment. First he will ask for a big fish. Second, one of your followers. Third, two followers or half a heart. Finally he will ask for your mentor Ratau. Followers and Ratau cannot be resurrected using The Ritual of Resurrection.
