Curtis has lived alone for the last several years of life, more out of apathy than of his choice. Eventually, the desire for companionship and someone to love and care for overcome his melancholy. He begins searching for a solution to his problem, and in his quest decides to try submitting an application for adoption. Though he's hopeful, he realizes the chances of him being selected are low. That is, until one day he receives a call from the agency. They've matched him to a young Cheshire. Though uncertain about the prospects of adopting a monster girl, he accepts that this could be the opportunity he needs.

So begins the trials, heartache, and warmth of being a father and how opening his heart to one young girl changes his life in ways he'd never expected.
