About...

A species of lynx native to North America, largely found in, and around, the Rocky Mountains.

It is a medium sized cat, that typically has a silvery brown coat of fur, with white_countershading. They usually have cheek_tufts, distinct ear_tufts and particularly large paws. It's winter coat of grey_fur is very long and fluffy, and generally lacks a distinct pattern. However, in summer, it's shorter coat usually becomes brown_fur that sometimes allows spots to be visible. It has a short_tail that usually has a black tip. Interestingly, the hind legs are usually longer than the forelegs.

Not to be confused with...

There are several other animals in the lynx genus that all bear a similarity to the Canada Lynx. They are the Eurasian_lynx, the Iberian_lynx and the Bobcat. The caracal also shares the lynx's tufted ears.
