Meta: multiple images
Tagged for posts that contain multiple separate images or animations. These can be either unrelated or follow a theme (such as 'MLP characters'). As a rule of thumb, if the images aren't sequential and could be easily cropped into separate images, it counts as a multi-image.
Multi-images should be clearly defined within the post, with each image having its own "section" on the page.
When tagging the character counts, each section of a multi-image is counted separately. For example, if the multi-image contains a dozen separated solo portraits, the post as a whole is solo instead of group. If the post is split into two images, one of them solo and the other duo, then it's tagged as both. And so on.
If some or all of the images appear sketchy, the sketch_page tag will also apply.
Determining whether a theme is multiple_images
Themes to avoid
- Concepts that form some form of progressive narrative such as a comic, or sequence.
- The multiple_scenes tag similarly does not apply when it is embedded into a comic, or part of an animation.
- Concepts that resemble images that are within, or are a part of another images such as a cutaway, or picture in picture.
In terms of sequential content, some images will look very similar to a typical multiple_images concept. It might be okay to tag both in certain instances, a sequence could possibly be embedded into a larger image set.
These themes may, but not always indicate that the multiple_images tag will apply.
- Sketch pages usually apply, but character collages are typically treated as one large scene.
- The post contains strategic positioning of frames:
- Images are separated by rigid borders.
- Images may be borderless, and positioned in such a way that makes them unlikely to be a part of a single coherent scene. Images may have different level of scaling as well, and inconsistent focus/cropping.
- The more space between images, the less likely they are part of a single scene.
- Images are organized into grid-like layouts.
- A character is seen appearing multiple times for reasons other than a sequence.
- A character is seen interacting with different characters across multiple instances.
