A revenant is a self-aware undead. When an innocent is unjustly put to death-either by execution or murder-they can very rarely come back from the Land of the Dead (AKA the Netherworld, Underworld, and Sheol) to seek justice. Revenants can heal quickly from any injury they sustain in persuit of their goal; however they cannot heal from injuries they take while helping the living. There are also evil revenants who trick Death into believing they were unjustly executed, and have returned to spread mayhem.
