Feature #1: If those tags are not already aliased to invalid_tag, feel free to submit tag aliases for them.

how do i do that

Feature #2: We already have the young and cub tags.

I don't mind seeing a cute cub or such, but i DON'T want to see stuff which can get me in trouble(like child porn or cub porn)

Feature #3: This is already in place, unless I'm severely misunderstanding you.

whoops, i meant instead of "artist" write "artist(s)" since i seen several collaps on this site

Feature #4: Agreed, some of the different color schemes are a little wonky (not being able to see spoiler sections on Bloodlust, for example).

huh, i have no problems viewing spoilers, are you sure this isn't a problem with your browser?

also a spoiler_warning tag would be nice to avoid unintentionally finding out who luke skywalker's father is or something along those lines

Put this in your blacklist:
young -rating:s

Make sure it's on 1 line, this will blacklist all images tagged "young" unless they have a "safe" rating.

Create a new topic, put it in "Tags and Wiki", make the title something like "Alias: ... -> invalid_tag" then explain in the thread what and why.

Use this in your blacklist:

human young -rating:s

And nothing should get past.

That's... not how.

You go here:
https://e621.net/tag_alias/new

Enter the information, and it creates the thread for you.
It also puts the alias in the list so that the admins (that's you) will see it.

Edit: Unless that's another one of those privileged+ things I didn't know that normal members can't do. In which case ignore me.

Updated by anonymous

I think they want multiple aliases of the same nature to be manually suggested in one thread to avoid cluttering up the forum.

Depends, we can create those aliases pretty fast, and spamming the forum with a dozen threads for related aliases is pretty annoying to everyone.
So using your best judgment is appreciated on what route to take.

Fair enough.
I was under the impression that they had to be individually submitted because of this thread: https://e621.net/forum/show/78213

There's one more thing. Aliases submitted by new alias form are added to pending alias list, and are generally not forgotten. Forum threads can get lost under many others.

Feature suggestion
There could form for suggesting multiple aliases and implications at once.

Requested feature: Ability to filter out images already added to a user's favorites list.

Why it would be useful: For those with extensive favorites lists, like mine, it would be a boon. This would be especially useful when using search terms like Order:score as you end up seeing a lot of stuff you've already been through.

Feature:
Give ability to do things on private pools to all test_janitors+
Why:

If not then please just update the pool.

I noticed that when you upload a hi res, absurd res, etc. image on Danbooru, that the size tag is automatically added. Do we have that here? If not, we should add it, because lord knows that many people forget to add the size to their images when needed.

This.

Updated by anonymous

When you click an image in a pool from its page, it should default to 'next in pool' rather than expanding the image.

Also, an option for 'Allowing blacklisted items in the 'Popular Posts' area.' would be nice.

Updated by anonymous

If you could have an option to hide descriptions on images that would be nice.

Updated by anonymous

These are some improvements to the Dtext that, in my opinion, they should be useful

#1 Headings

Make headings able to be anchored when parsed. Why? So we can point to specific sections inside wiki pages (or elsewhere, let's focus on the wiki right now).
How? Take for example... THE RUUUUUURS!!! and the section "General".

Wouldn't be easy to have a contents section (more on it later) inside a wiki entry with links to each heading for better access (a la wikipedia)?

Heading tags (h1 to h6) currently support the text to use as its contents (h1.Text), what this small improvement does is accept some extra information, a single word between the heading level (h1) and the period (.) character, separating it with a colon (:). To be linkable to we would type

h4:general.General_

and the parser would turn it into

<h4><a id="general">General</a></h4>

so we can make the wiki more indexed and easier to use.

#2 The "contents" section

The "Contents" section would only appear inside the wiki as a box on the right with all the relevant sections of the currently viewed entry. Or can be added manually using a dedicated \[contents] tag.

As for the page, using this suggestion and #1, it would look like this HTML for the box

#3 ''Links'':http:// to.some.url/

In order to be able to link between sections across different pages inside e621 (and related), the way links are parsed must be improved aswell. I was thinking on something like rel:general, General or {[general|General]}, which converts to

<a href="#general">General</a>

to link to a section inside the same page and a standard URL to link between pages (http://e621.net/wiki/show?title=e621%3Arules#general).

Requested feature:
The possibility to use metatags in a blacklist.

Why it would be useful:
For example, because "Speciestags:1 human" would turn into "not_furry, animal_ears, human solo, [humanoid characters that are borderline furry, but not enough to be not human], and so on".
And it might be neat to just evade art that's very bad, score:..-10 for example.

Already on the todo list, just complicated to implement.

Right, that's what Tony means. Any tag that has a prefix "something:tag" is a metatag, like "fav:dester", or "order:favcount", etc.

Feature
Reason of rejection of tag alias/implication should be placed in its forum thread.

Reason
Currently rejection reason is sent via PM to creator of tag alias/implication suggestion. It would be better if it was posted in suggestion thread instead, so everyone could see why this suggestion was rejected.

Agreed. Right now it's pretty mysterious why some alias/implications get passed and others get ignored. This would help keep everyone on the same page with what direction the site is going with things, etc.

I'll try to post in the forums more for aliases but it'd be easier if the forum was linked in the alias reason field along with the reason

Updated by anonymous

We need to update the FFD rules and add "too big" as an invalid reason to flag something

Updated by anonymous

Feature: Remove possibility of suggesting implication to tag that is aliased to something else.

That kind of implications only caused chaos because the implied tag is not aliased. If a1 is aliased to a2 and implication b -> a1 was made then all posts with b tag would have also a1 tag even if it's aliased.

Either that or change "This implication process occurs AFTER the alias process." from here.

Updated by anonymous

Requested feature:
The possibility to propose multiple implications or aliases in one form (not aliases and implications at the same time, that'd become awfully messy).

Why it would be useful:
Implications that are suggested outside of forms are sometimes overlooked, and It'd prevent the walls of implications by the same person. It would be particularly useful in cases where one would wish to imply a few tags to the same, or vice versa (red and green hair to hair, or hyper_muscle to hyper and muscle.)

I think I might have requested this before, but here goes anyway. Having the thumbnails for deleted images be clickable and take you to the page of the deleted image for users contrib and below would be nice, if only to find out why an image was deleted.

Updated by anonymous

Requested feature: Browse e621 in the old style unencrypted (http vs https).

Why it would be useful: Faster, less bandwidth usage, fewer complications. I noticed the "connection was reset" errors only started cropping up once everything went HTTPS. This isn't my online banking access, it's an image board, HTTPS isn't needed.

Updated by anonymous

Requested feature: Separate description updates and tag updates.

Why it would be useful: Because then posts with empty description, wouldn't show up in the description tab.

Updated by anonymous

Requested feature: the possibility to select the number of columns on a page.
Why it would be useful:
I prefer using the Bloodlust theme because of the 3 columns instead of four, which is a lot better on my phone. My computer would do well with 5, maybe 6, I'm a bit of an enthusiast about cramming stuff on one page because it's screen has a high resolution. I can imagine others might like the option, and it would fit well with the already existing option to change the number of pictures on one page (which is low when I'm using my phone, and max when I'm on the laptop.)

Requested feature: Thumbnails for flash.

Letting users upload a screecap as a thumbnail for flash instead of the standard "download" icon would make browsing faster and easier, as we wouldn't always need to check tags first to see what the content is.
It would also make it much easier when looking for a specific flash in a set with similar tags, such as ones by h0rs3.

I personally do think it's about time we addressed this somehow, but carefully. e621's collection has grown large enough now that it really can become a pain in the ass to find a certain flash animation, even if you're narrowing it down as best you can with tag searches.

One of the main issues of course is how we would prevent such a feature from being abused, people replacing proper thumbnails with improper ones, etc. Would also need to agree on rules on what the thumbnails should be (most likely something like "use the artist's thumbnail that they used on their own site whenever possible, unless it's not indicative of the animation's content").

And I don't even know what sorts of technical challenges would be involved. Tony would need to weigh in on that.

I would recommend priv+/contrib+ may upload one and the title screen may/should be the most striking thing to help identify the flash.
Or the preview the artist choose, if that is saying anything at all besides [Flash 18+] or something.

At a guess the simplest way to implement the technical side of it would be to simply handle the thumbnail as a separate post, but hidden from the main gallery. The image would only show as a thumbnail once approved by a moderator.
That way it shouldn't need much new code as posts just need to be linked together, rather than create a new upload facility.

NotMeNotYou said:

Yeah probably best to advise in order of preference; artists own thumbnail first, title screen second, first indicative frame of the flash third.

Updated by anonymous

I think it'd be good to allow a user to change the category of a forum thread once (to prevent abuse), so that they can fix it themselves if they post to the wrong category and then realize it. Yes, I just made this mistake myself.

It should be locked down after maybe 12 hours as an option to normal users to prevent weird altering-history type stuffs.

How about uploads by HTML5 via drag+drop? (Ofcourse still keeping a 'browse' button to keep the old legacy method) I think that'd be great.

Also, maybe an "upload from URL"-field would be nice? Google's reverse image search allows this and imageshack does as well, along with I think imgr.

Requested feature: Limit the FFD reason to 400-500 Characters.

Why it would be useful: Everything in the valid flag reasons and a couple invalid ones fit in there, we do not need FFD Spam with 2,245,321 characters occupied with GAYGAYGAY[...].

I don't think it even needs to be that long. I mean, look at the valid FFD reasons:

'Artist is DNP'
'Smaller/cropped/inferiorrepost version of post #xxxxxx'
'RL porn'

I can't think of any reason to have the FFD length be any longer than those.
